Final Year Project
Project Title
Dastaan
Description
My project is based on the theme of partition. It aims to highlight the rivalry and hatred between India and Pakistan that was born at the time of partition. It is due to this hatred that even after 70 years, biased narratives dominate in both countries and these narratives induce the same hatred amongst the new generations. The project consists of short stories based on real events and incidents from both sides of the border. These incidents are narrated and experienced by the people at the time of partition. The final product will be an art installation consisting of three short stories from Pakistan and three from India; one short story will be based on my perspective of the partition. Each story will then be accompanied by an abstract painting. There are four components of the project: 1. Paintings 2. Short Stories 3.
